Illegal drugs are a problem across the United States, but they have a source. Many drugs are created in labs, and this map from Joslyn Law Firm shows us which cities had the most drug lab raids. They used 10 years’ worth of data from the Drug Enforcement Administration to create this map.
The ten cities with the most raids were:
- Kalamazoo, MI
- Akron, OH
- Milton, FL
- Houston, TX
- Port Huron, MI
- Jackson, MI
- Christianburg, VA
- Flint, MI
- Battle Creek, MI
- Rockingham, NC
On a statewide level, the most raids occurred in:
- Michigan
- North Carolina
- Ohio
- Illinois
- California
- Pennsylvania
- Florida
- South Carolina
- Kentucky
- New York
DEA drug raids are important because they can disrupt the supply chain of illegal drugs. Overall, raiding and shutting down these labs helps reduce overdose deaths, public health risks, and drug-related crimes.
