Ever since women entered the work force there has been a discrepancy between how much men and women are paid to complete the same tasks in the same position. Feminists have championed the cause of closing this gender pay gap. This gap isn’t the same across the U.S. The team at Qualtrics created a map showing us which states and counties have seen the most movement in the pay gap, whether that was an increase or decrease.

States that have made the most progress with the biggest decreases include:

  1. Wyoming
  2. Alaska
  3. West Virginia
  4. Oregon
  5. Michigan
  6. Ohio
  7. Pennsylvania
  8. Louisiana
  9. Washington
  10. Oklahoma

With progress comes setback. Some states have actually regressed and had a widening pay gap. These states include:

  1. Florida
  2. California
  3. Nevada
  4. New Hampshire
  5. Texas
  6. District of Columbia
  7. Maryland

Explore the Qualtrics data to find even more details. They even included details on which counties have had the greatest change.
