Human Trafficking in the United States
Due to the nature of human trafficking, it is difficult to fully account for the number of victims in this invisible crime. They researched the available data and created this infographic using the results of their analysis. Which states have the most cases of human trafficking? Read on to learn more.
California, Texas, and Florida are the three states with the largest populations in the United States. Therefore, it should come as little surprise that they are the top three states with the highest number of reported cases of human trafficking from 2019 to 2023.
Nevada, however, takes the leads for most human trafficking cases when looking at the data per 100,000 people. On average, there are 58.48 human trafficking victims per 100,000 people using the same data obtained from 2019 to 2023.
For comparison, California comes in eighth by this measure, with 28.88 trafficking victims per 100,000 people. California has more reported victims overall due to the much greater amount of people living there.
