How Fast Can America’s Biggest Companies Earn Enough Revenue to Cover Their Employees’ Salaries?
America’s biggest companies earn hundreds of billions of dollars throughout the year, but how much of that is actually going to their workforce? While some may break this data down by sharing the percentage of revenue that each company puts towards paying employee salaries, one company thought outside the box and displayed this information in a much more intriguing way. LLC Attorney created a visualisation sharing the length of time it takes these multi-billion dollar companies to earn both the average of one employee’s annual salary, and the combined total of all of their employees’ annual salaries. The 50 U.S. companies that earned the highest revenue in 2022 were included in the study.
Let’s start with the former, and the first ranked list that makes up this visual. The “How Long It Takes the Largest Companies in America to Make One Employee’s Average Annual Salary” list is broken down not into days or hours, but into mere seconds. In fact, the highest earning company in the U.S. (and the world) was able to earn the average salary of one employee in under 2 seconds! As for the aforementioned second portion of the visual, LLC Attorney also ranked the same 50 companies by the length of time it takes them to earn all of their employees’ annual salaries combined. With thousands, and in some cases millions, of people working for these mega corporations the length of time has been broken down into days rather than seconds. Below is the list of the top 10 companies that make all of their employees’ annual salaries in the least number of days. You’ll notice that many of the companies in the previous top 10 list aren’t found in this one, mainly due to having far more employee salaries to pay. Walmart has more than 2 million salaries to pay, putting them at 42nd on the full list of fifty companies.
